Terrace’s first speech after winning the British Prime Minister’s office

Date:

The Conservative Party announced the election of Liz Truss as its leader and British Prime Minister, on Monday, after winning the election over rival Rishi Sunak by close to 21,000 votes.

Terrace, who holds the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs, won 81,326 votes, while 60,399 voters voted for Sunak, and the total number of voters reached 172,437.

In her first speech after the victory, she thanked the caretaker Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, telling him: “Thank you, you have accomplished the job of Brexit (exiting the European Union),” she said.

“You beat Jeremy Corbyn, dispense vaccines, and stood up to Vladimir Putin,” the prime minister-elect told Johnson. “People admire you from Kyiv to Carlisle,” she said.

Terrace will face major challenges during the coming period, the first of which is trying to reduce the level of inflation, which has reached 10%, and deal with the crisis of high energy bills as a result of the Russian attack on Ukraine and the tax cuts that it has supported for some time.

It is noteworthy that the winner of the elections will be tasked with forming a new government on Tuesday, after her visit to the Queen Elizabeth Palace in Scotland, accompanied by Johnson.
