The Ministerial Council for Development headed by Mansour bin Zayed reviews a number of initiatives and legislations to develop the government system


H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, chaired the meeting of the Ministerial Council for Development, which was held today at Qasr Al Watan in the capital, Abu Dhabi, during which a number of legislation, policies and initiatives aimed at supporting the government work system and continuing its development were discussed in line with with future variables and requirements.

During its session, the Council discussed a number of initiatives and policies related to education, agriculture and communications development, as well as a number of legislations related to supporting the economy and regulating heavy vehicles on federal roads in cooperation with local transport authorities.

In the joint Gulf action, the Council reviewed the results of follow-up work in the areas of joint Gulf economic work, and a report on the state’s participation in the Joint Program Production Corporation and the Gulf Radio and Television Corporation.

In government reports, the Council discussed the reports of the Audit Bureau regarding the final accounts of the Emirates Development Bank, the Emirates General Petroleum Corporation, and the Emirates General Company for Transport and Services, for the fiscal year ending at the end of December 2021.

In governmental affairs, the Council reviewed the request of the Federal National Council to discuss the topic of “government policy on enhancing citizens’ participation in the health sector.” It also discussed the recommendations of the Federal National Council regarding the policies of the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the “Program Sheikh Zayed Housing.

In the same context, the Council reviewed the results of participation in the Twelfth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization held in Geneva last June, and the World Summit on Women in the Thai capital Bangkok during the same month, and laid the foundation stone for the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Center for Women’s Education and Training in Zanzibar, Tanzania, during last July.
