Rise in Rift Valley fever cases in Mauritania


The Ministry of Livestock in Mauritania announced, on Thursday, that the cases of Rift Valley Fever have risen to ninety-five, stressing that they are distributed among five foci.
The ministry indicated in a special bulletin tonight that it has confirmed ninety-five cases of this epidemic, which were diagnosed after analyzes of 465 suspected samples in five governorates.

The Ministry had announced earlier that four cases of Rift Valley fever had been recorded, and then said that the situation was under control.
The ministry decided to isolate the infected animals completely, treat them and limit their movement, and decided to use insecticides and control insects that transmit the disease.
