London: In his first address to the nation as King of Britain, King Charles III said on Friday that he was deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and would continue her life-long work of serving the nation. Charles took the throne after the Queen’s death on Thursday. He has been given the title of Maharaj Charles III. Charles said, “I repeat today this promise of a lifetime of service. Charles’ speech was broadcast on TV and at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where some 2,000 people are taking part in a tribute meeting in memory of the Queen. These include Prime Minister Liz Truss and other members of the government. King Charles began his first address by saying that today I am expressing my feelings with deep sadness. Throughout her life, Her Majesty the Queen – my beloved mother – was an inspiration and example to me and my entire family.

Charles said – we are his debtors
King Charles said that we are indebted to him for his love, affection, guidance. Queen Elizabeth was a well-to-do woman. He kept a promise with destiny. We are deeply saddened by his death. Today I renew the promise of lifelong service. It was more than a promise. It was a deeply personal commitment that defined his entire life.

King Charles said she was an inspiration and an example to him and his family. He concluded his speech by saying that “and to my dear mother, as you begin your last great journey to join my dear late father, I just want to say: Thank you.” To our family and nations. Thank you for your love and dedication to the family, you have served so diligently over the years.
