After the reversal of the government in Bihar, politics is very fast here. The BJP is targeting the Bihar government on different issues. At the same time, JD(U) on Friday accused Bihar BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal of presenting misleading figures on population growth rate in two districts of the state and also said that he is trying to spread communal hatred among the people.

Notably, the BJP state president had on Wednesday claimed that the population growth rate in Kishanganj and Araria is “highest in the world” partly due to the alleged high rate of Bangladeshi infiltrators. He claimed that the rate of population growth in these two districts matched only in the tribal areas of Pakistan and parts of Ethiopia.

JD(U) leader Arvind Nishad in a statement said that all BJP leaders including Jaiswal are engaged in inciting communal hatred among the people in the state to take political advantage. Jaiswal is giving wrong and misleading information. He claimed that the population growth rate in many other districts of India is much higher than that of Araria and Kishanganj.

According to the 2011 census, Kishanganj had 67 percent Muslim population, which is the highest as compared to other districts of Bihar. It is followed by its neighboring district Araria where it was 43 per cent. Jaiswal made the remarks in Araria, where he was supporting Shah’s rally in Purnia later this month.
