Suicide Case: Suicide cases are increasing continuously in Rajasthan. On the other hand, cases of mass suicide are also increasing. The most worrying thing is that the state has come second in the country in the cases of mass suicide. At the same time, Rajasthan is at number 27 in the case of suicide.

According to the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) last year, 22 cases of mass suicide were registered in the state, in which 67 people lost their lives. At the same time, 33 of the mass suicides were committed in Tamil Nadu, making this state number one in the country. Apart from this, Kerala is at number three, where 12 cases of mass suicide were reported.

In the case of single suicide case, Rajasthan is at number 27 in the country. Every year the cases of suicide are increasing here. However, this year there has been a slight increase in suicide cases in the state in the year 2021 as compared to 2020. In 2021, 5593 people committed suicide in the state and gave their lives. At the same time, before this 5546 suicides were registered in 2020, 4531 in 2019, 4333 in 2018, 4188 in 2017, 3678 in 2016 and 3457 in 2015. According to the NCRB data, in the year 2021, 7 out of every one lakh people in the state took a fatal step like committing suicide.

Why are people giving their lives?

According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report, maximum number of people are giving their lives due to family discord, disease and drugs. At the same time, most of the suicides are happening due to family disputes. About 33 percent of the people who committed suicide in the state committed suicide due to family discord. 18 per cent people died due to illness, 6.4 per cent due to drugs, 4.8 per cent marital problems, 4.6 per cent love affairs and 2 per cent due to unemployment.

Highest suicides in these five states
According to the NCRB report, an average of 450 people are committing suicide daily in the country. In the year this figure reaches close to 1.64 lakhs. There has been an increase of more than seven percent of suicide cases in the country in 2021 as compared to the last year 2020. Maharashtra has the highest number of 22207 suicide cases, Tamil Nadu 18925, Madhya Pradesh 14956, West Bengal 13500 and Karnataka 13056 suicide cases. More than 50 percent of the suicides in the country are from these states.
