A pregnant tribal woman from a village in Palghar district of Maharashtra has given birth to a baby girl in the middle of a dense forest. There was no proper road to take you to the hospital. The pregnant woman was being taken to the hospital on a makeshift stretcher from the middle of the forest.
The medical officer said that a 21-year-old woman from Eena village in Jawahar taluka had experienced labor pain. There was no proper route to be taken to the hospital. The family members were taking him on a makeshift stretcher on Sunday from the middle of the dense forest. A video of which has been shared on social media. In the video, some people are seen taking the pregnant woman to the hospital through the forest route.
The medical officer said that the woman gave birth to the baby girl in the middle of the forest. After which the mother and child were admitted to Jawahar Patangshah Sub District Hospital. Medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Ramdas Marad said that both the mother and the child are fine.
A woman had lost twins due to proper road connectivity
Last month, a 26-year-old pregnant tribal woman gave birth to twins in the village of Mokhada taluka amid heavy rains. The woman was being taken to the hospital on a temporary stretcher as there was no way. Due to the delay in reaching the medical center, both her twins had died. Vaidehi Wadhan, President, Palghar Zilla Parishad said that due to lack of proper road connectivity in the villages of remote areas, people have to face difficulties in commuting to hospitals, markets, cities etc.
