Abu Dhabi (Etihad)
The “Live Healthy with Nakheel” initiative, a community initiative dedicated to the residential communities of Nakheel company spread across Dubai, announced its latest community event, which will be held on Saturday, September 24 at the “Jumeirah Pavilion”, where Arena Sharma, founder of the initiative, will discuss topics related to Mental and psychological well-being with Clinical Health Psychologist Dr. Melanie Schlatter, and the proactive approach that needs to be taken to improve, nurture and maintain the integrity of our minds, and ensure a healthy, productive and rewarding lifestyle.

Dr. Melanie Schlatter, Clinical Health Psychologist, said: “Most of what I do in my job is to help adults deal with stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, sadness, sleep difficulties, day-to-day problems and the initial trauma of an illness. I am excited to play my role in raising awareness through the “Live Healthy with Nakheel” initiative on the importance of seeking help to overcome psychological difficulties and adversities, and reduce shame or shame when going to the psychiatrist as well. It’s great that people have the will to take control of their challenges to live more meaningful lives and feel better in control of them.

She added: Disseminating information about health and wellness and achieving the necessary awareness among the general public makes societies healthier, as we see the effects of mental and psychological well-being in every aspect of our lives. Our moods, physical health, and social relationships help us cope better with unexpected adversities and obstacles. Hence the importance of the “Live Healthy with Nakheel” initiative, as it provides its services to a multicultural society that is aware of health issues, and its focus is on educating people about the choices that can be made to improve the health of community members and improve their standard of living for the better.

Francis Gianni, CEO of Communities Management at Nakheel, said: “We place the health and well-being of the people in our residential communities the highest priority, and the issue of mental and psychological well-being is a major focus of promoting the health and well-being of our residents. This event will be the first of the initiatives we intend to organize in the future that will bring residents of our residential communities and members of the entire local community together to explore important related topics and help improve people’s quality of life.

Arina Sharma, founder of Live Healthy with Nakheel, said: “Being involved in the community can improve mental and emotional well-being and provide a sense of belonging and social connectedness. Unfortunately, there are no quick solutions to achieve mental, psychological and physical safety, and the best thing is to incorporate healthy habits into our daily lives that help us feel satisfied and able to handle everything. During the interactive session on mental and psychological safety, we will discuss self-care practices that help achieve mental, psychological and emotional balance for a person and enhance his role in the society in which he lives.

This event, which focuses on mental and psychological well-being, provides a safe space for anyone who has an interest or has faced similar challenges to connect with others, where Dr. Melanie, through her in-depth experience as a psychologist, will share practical information, techniques and tips to help enable attendees to manage and improve their mental health.
