The shortage of manure in Himachal Pradesh will soon be overcome. On Monday, the consignment of urea fertilizer and 12-32-16 fertilizer will reach IFFCO’s godowns by September 24. Urea fertilizer has reached Chandigarh and Hoshiarpur. By September 20, demand for 12-32-16 fertilizers will be sent to the state. At present, farmers are demanding fertilizer for the cultivation of potatoes and other vegetables. 12-32-16 fertilizer requirement of 80 percent farmers has been fulfilled. Only 20 percent of the farmers are such, who have to spray 12-32-16 manure before planting the crop.
On the other hand, urea fertilizer is needed by almost every farmer at this time. Spraying of urea after sowing the crop is considered very important. A consignment of 1321.92 metric tonnes of urea fertilizer has reached Chandigarh. It will be distributed in the parts of the state adjoining Chandigarh from Monday. In Hoshiarpur also a consignment of 1312.87 metric tonnes of manure has reached. It will be allocated in districts like Una, Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur as per the requirement. At present, sowing of potato and other vegetables has stopped due to non availability of manure. Many farmers had already bought manure as per the requirement. They are not facing any problem.
Supply of fertilizer will be sent in the state soon. In most areas, urea will reach the compost godowns on Monday. May have to wait up to a week for 12-32-16.– Bhuvnesh Pathania, Marketing Manager, IFFCO Himachal Pradesh
