Preparation against left arm pacer
Left arm fast bowler brings the ball inside. The excellent swing ball inside with Paes has always troubled the right-handed batsmen. The record of India’s top-3 i.e. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli has been faded in front of the left-handed pacers anyway. Lovedeep Singh with strong bowling action may not have reached the level of Trent Boult and Shaheen Shah Afridi, but there was something special in him. Trapped Rohit with the back of the hand slower ball and then got praise.
Rohit got out in the nets
The Indian team management had made a special demand for a local left arm pacer to practice in the nets. Lovedeep himself was picked by Punjab Cricket Association coach and net session in-charge Dinesh Kumar. Lovedeep, who played under-23 for Punjab, hails from Sangrur. Apart from the left arm pacer, two leg spinners were also demanded. Lovedeep also once trapped captain Rohit Sharma in his ball. However, Virat Kohli did not face any problem. Kohli was showing fine footwork in the nets session. He was doing a good maneuver by opening the face of the bat. When Luvdeep impressed Rohit, Suriya and Rahul, Lovedeep became a fan of Virat. It was nothing less than a lifetime achievement for this young pacer.
