Yusuf Pathan stars as Bhilwara Kings beat Manipal Tigers in Legends League Cricket 2022

New Delhi: It has been a long time since former swashbuckling batsman Yusuf Pathan left international cricket, but there has been no difference in his fearless batting. He thrashed Manipal Tigers while playing for Bhilwara in the second season of the Legends League cricket tournament. He not only gave the team a 3-wicket victory, but also destroyed the stormy half-century of Mohammad Kaif, blowing 4 fours and 2 sixes in just 28 balls.

Earlier, with the brilliant innings of middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif (73 runs, 59 balls, 10 fours), Manipal Tigers scored 153 for seven against Bhilwara Kings in the Legends League tournament. However, Tigers did not have a good start. In the match played in Lucknow, Tigers lost four wickets for 36 runs in the power play itself in front of the deadly bowling of Fidel Edwards (4/34).

Kaif held one end. He took 38 with Tatenda Taibu (17 runs, 13 balls) for the fifth wicket, 59 with Pradeep Sahu (30 runs, 19 balls) for the sixth wicket and Shivakant Shukla (16* runs, 12 balls) for the seventh wicket. With a partnership of 41 runs took the team to a challenging score. In reply, Bhilwara won by losing 7 wickets in 19.4 overs. Apart from Yusuf Pathan, Tanmay Srivastava scored 28, Nick Compton 18 and Irfan Pathan scored 15 runs. In the last, Tino West scored an unbeaten 15 off 7 balls.

Irfan Pathan of Manipal Tigers won the toss and elected to field first. Irfan gave the first success to the Kings by dismissing Ravikant Shukla in the very first over. After this, former West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards broke into havoc. Edwards also brought great success in his first and second over of the match in the form of Corey Anderson. Edwards also carried Swapnil Asnodkar and Ricardo Powell in his second over and added to the troubles for the Tigers. However, after this, Kaif took the lead. Kaif, who was slow in the initial overs, scored a lot of runs before being dismissed off the last ball.
