Government officials often met at the Hotel Hyatt in Mogadishu for meetings. In pictures being shared on social media, smoke can be seen coming out of a building. Al-Shabaab is one of the factions of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda in different parts of the world. One can see it against Boko Haram in Nigeria or Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan based in Pakistan. Based primarily in Somalia, the full name of this organization is Harkat al-Shabab al-Mujahideen and it dominates the country’s southern border with Kenya.
