New Delhi. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be taking a big lead in the early trends of the assembly elections in Gujarat so far. Till the time of writing the news, BJP is leading on a record 154 seats. On the other hand, Congress seems to be reduced to its lowest level with just 17 seats. At the same time, the condition of Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which is claiming to form the government in Gujarat, is also not good. AAP, which is contesting all 182 assembly seats in Gujarat, is leading in only 6 seats in the initial trends.

In Gujarat, Aam Aadmi Party’s chief ministerial candidate Isudan Gadhvi is leading in Khambhalia seat. Apart from this, AAP candidates are also leading in Viswadar, Gariyadhar, Dhari, Dediapada and Batod assembly seats. However, there is news of party’s state president Gopal Italia trailing from Surat’s Katargam seat.

By the way, if compared with the last time i.e. 2017 assembly elections, then this time AAP’s strength is increasing in the state. Last time the party contested on 29 seats and on all the deposits of its candidates were forfeited.

In the Gujarat elections of 2022, out of the votes counted so far, the Aam Aadmi Party has got more than 13 percent votes. AAP leader Manish Sisodia was also very excited about this. He tweeted, ‘Aam Aadmi Party is becoming a national party today with the vote of the people of Gujarat. For the first time the politics of education and health is making a mark in national politics. Congratulations to the whole country for this.

Explain that any party needs to get recognition in at least four states to get the status of a national party. For this, it needs to win at least two seats or get 6 per cent votes in the assembly elections. Aam Aadmi Party has government in Delhi and Punjab. Apart from this, the performance of the party was also good in the Goa assembly elections. In such a situation, AAP needs to get 6 percent votes in Gujarat to get the status of a national party.
