On September 17, on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday (Narendra Modi Birthday), 8 cheetahs, brought from the African country Namibia to the National Kuno Reserve in Madhya Pradesh, are feeling stress-free in a large enclosure. They hunt chital and nilgai every three to four days and eat their favorite food. Namibian Cheetahs have so far hunted more than 20 animals here. Now preparations are being made to release all these 8 cheetahs in the open forest within 2 months. After successful sifting of 8 cheetahs from Namibia to the National Coono Sanctuary, preparations are on to bring 12 more cheetahs from there. It is expected that by January 10, 12 cheetahs from South Africa will also be shifted here.
Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Singh has visited Kuno in the past. During that time, he had instructed the officials of the National Coon Sanctuary to keep all the preparations complete. The officials of Kuno have also built and prepared eight new enclosures inside the sanctuary. Six enclosures already exist here. That is, now a total of 14 enclosures have been prepared in Kuno to keep the cheetahs in quarantine. Just waiting for 12 more guests coming from South Africa. This wait is also going to end slowly.
By February 10, 8 leopards will be released in the open forest.
Along with the cheetahs coming from South African, the officials of the Cheetah Task Force are preparing to release the already existing 8 cheetahs into the open forest. He has been released in the big enclosure for the time being. It is being told that these 8 cheetahs will be released in the open forest as soon as the quarantine period of one month is completed in the coons of 12 cheetahs coming from South Africa. After this, tourists will be able to see cheetahs in Kuno. That is, if cheetahs are brought from South Africa by 10th January, then after 1 month till 10th February, 8 cheetahs will be released in the open forest.

In this regard, Prakash Verma, DFO of Koon Forest Division, says that all the cheetahs are living very well. They are also hunting continuously. It is a matter of happiness that there are adequate security arrangements in Kuno. All preparations are almost complete for the 12 cheetahs coming from South Africa. Probably in one to one and a half months, the cheetahs will be released from the big enclosure into the open forest.
