January 26 is a very special day for Virat Kohli.
First Test century was scored on this day in 2012
New Delhi. Virat Kohli is counted among the biggest batsmen in the world today. Kohli is the biggest contender to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 100 centuries. In ODIs, he is very close to breaking Sachin’s record of 49 centuries. Today’s day i.e. 26 January is very special for Kohli. Because on this day Kohli had shown with one of his innings that he would be the star cricketer of the future. In the year 2012, on this day i.e. on January 26, Kohli scored a century in the Adelaide Test against Australia. This was the first century of his Test career. His first Test century came after playing 13 innings.
This century innings of Virat could not work for the team. Because India lost this test by 298 runs. But, with this one innings, he had proved that he has come to rule the world cricket. Kohli scored 116 runs in the first innings of this Test against Australia in 2012 in Adelaide. His first century was also special because of this. Because he came out to bat when India lost 4 wickets for 87 runs in response to Australia’s score of 604/7 in the first innings. But Virat saved India from getting out early by hitting a century.
