FIFA Lifts Suspension On AIFF: The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has lifted the suspension imposed on the All India Football Federation. FIFA issued a press release saying that the suspension of the Football Association of India has been lifted from 25 August. Along with this, there is more good news for Indian football fans. Under-17 Women’s World Cup 2022 will now be held in India only.
FIFA suspended AIFF due to third party interference. But now it has been removed. FIFA said in a press release, “The Bureau of the FIFA Council has decided to lift the ban on the All India Football Federation (AIFF). This ban was imposed due to the intervention of third parties.
After the suspension was lifted, the AIFF tweeted and informed that the Under-17 Women’s World Cup 2022 will be held on time. It will be held from 11 October to 30 October 2022.
After the suspension was lifted from the AIFF, its acting general secretary Sunando Dhar said, “The darkest time of Indian football is finally over. The suspension imposed on the AIFF on the midnight of August 15 has been lifted by FIFA. We sincerely thank FIFA and the AFC, in particular AFC Secretary General Datuk Seri Windsor John, for guiding us through such difficult times.
Significantly, after the suspension of FIFA, Union Minister Anurag Thakur expressed happiness by tweeting. He said that this is the victory of Indian football.
