While an attempt has been made to provide relief to a large population in the draft of the Master Plan-2031, prepared for the planned development of Gorakhpur city, many people have also faced disappointment. More than 40 colonies developed on green land, open area and dumping ground lands, with a population of about two lakh, have increased their problems.
The population of this area had high hopes from the new master plan to legalize its construction from illegal, but they do not seem to get relief. People of these colonies can register their objections regarding the Maha Yojana.
On the other hand, in the matter of regularization of 1700 acres of land in the city, a decision is expected only after the objection is registered. Efforts are on for the last three decades to regularize this land. Several times a proposal has been sent to the government but no decision could be taken.
The people who had built on this large area had high hopes from the new master plan. GDA Vice President Prem Ranjan Singh says that objections have been sought on the draft of the master plan. Guidance will also be sought from the government regarding the objections.
